Toto, I don’t think we’re in Graywater anymore!
Our heroes travel to Oz through a mysterious extraplanar backrooms known as the Infinite Staircase, a shifting network of doors and landings that connect distant worlds. Most don’t find it on purpose, and things rarely go how you expect.
The party will come to work for Nafas, a noble genie who guides them through the Staircase, sending them on missions across the realm of Oz itself!
Similarly to the sold-out Obojima/Saltmarsh campaign, this campaign is a combination of two books: Andrew Kolb’s Oz Campaign Setting and Quests from the Infinite Staircase.
Andrew Kolb’s setting looks absolutely incredible. It’s a modern magical city filled with political factions, dream logic, and dangerous whimsy. This isn’t just the storybook version of Oz—it’s a place where magic feels unstable, alliances shift constantly, and things don’t always make sense in ways that are sometimes fun and sometimes very bad.
Meanwhile Quests from the Infinite Staircase is a wild journey led by a strange guide. Each of the chapters feels wildly different from the others, so I think this campaign will really lend itself to the world of Oz.
This will be a full campaign with a consistent group of characters starting at level 1. It will run either monthly or biweekly and is very new player friendly. The game will lean heavily into roleplay, story, and exploration, with intrigue, weird encounters, and some fun combat mixed in.
I’m really excited about this one. Andrew Kolb’s Oz feels like one of those settings where magic actually feels magical again instead of just another system of rules. There’s a ton of room for strange characters, unexpected choices, and stories that go in directions you don’t see coming. It feels like the kind of campaign where anything could happen and probably will.
If you’re looking for something a little weirder, a little more story-driven, and a lot more magical, this is that game.
