New Player Guide
So you’re excited to start playing D&D, but you don’t want to jump into it without researching some information about it first?
First time D&D Player Resources
The resources below will be separated into two main sections: First Time D&D Player Resources and information that’s relevant to players in the Graywater Discord Server.
We will start with the more general information first.
If you’ve never played Dungeons & Dragons, you can watch this introductory video by Matthew Colville for new players of Dungeons & Dragons to get an idea of what the game is all about.
If you’ve never made a D&D character and want some help, here is a video by Matthew Colville to guide new players through making a character.
Confused about where to start with your backstory? Here is a video made by Matthew Colville to help players with creating backstories.
Concerned that you aren’t doing a good job as a player? You’re probably doing a great job, but here’s a video by Matthew Colville to help players who care about being a good player.
I’ve heard that you want to level up your Player Characters? Well you’re in luck, Matthew Colville made this great video about playing a Good Player Character.
This one isn’t just for New Players, but I think it’s a very good video for all players, even DMs, to watch. It is hard to remember that not all players play D&D the same way, and most of those are valid (with the exception of ones that make other players not have fun). This video is also made my Matthew Colville (you can probably tell that I like this guy’s videos quite a bit).
