Graywater Discord Rules

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this community.

Participation on this server will be considered an implicit agreement to these rules.

Failure to follow these rules could result in moderator action, restricted participation, or a server ban.

Payment for games or services does not exempt users from these rules.

Access to the server or its channels may be restricted independently of paid participation.

Respect the @Mods and their decisions.

Need Help?

If you believe someone has violated these rules here on the server, please tag @Mods.

If you have questions about the rules or a moderator action you’re involved in, request a moderator discussion by tagging @Mods in the need-help channel.

We are not responsible for content outside of this server.

1 • Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.

Possible violations include:

  • Hate Speech (which could result in an immediate ban)

  • Harassment

  • Treating someone with disrespect even if they’re being disrespectful

  • Trolling

Please be polite when reminding others of the server rules or when suggesting a more suitable channel for a discussion.

2 • Content

While you must be at least 18 years old to participate in this community, this is not an “adult” community.

Keep content reasonably tame.

Possible violations include:

  • Excessive sexual content or depictions of graphic nudity.

  • Excessive descriptions of violence or toilet humor.

  • Usernames or avatars containing the above.

2.1 • Privacy

Respect people’s privacy.

Do not share information that could identify a user in real life.

Sharing someone else’s information is strictly prohibited and may result in an immediate ban.

2.2 • Politics, Religion, and News

Discussion of real-world news, politics, and religion should be kept to a minimum and moved to the discourse channel.

Moderators may redirect or end discussions that become disruptive or excessive.

2.3 • Game Spoilers

Spoilers of any D&D campaign product (official or not) are not allowed.

Keep campaign specific discussions limited to campaign specific server rooms to avoid spoilers for players who have not yet played those campaigns.

Feel free to share fun moments with your characters in story-time-no-spoilers or share quotes in game-quotes, but please try not to discuss where items or enemies were found or specific plot points of the campaigns.

2.4 • Media Spoilers

Use Discord spoiler tags to tag spoilers when discussing any popular media, sports, or any D&D actual plays (Dimension 20, Critical Role, The Adventure Zone, Etc.).

3 • Spam, Scams, & Advertising

Spam, scams, unsolicited promotion, or excessive self-advertising is not allowed.

  • Repeatedly posting links to your own content, products, streams, or services.

  • Promotional posts outside of designated channels.

  • Sending unsolicited advertisements via direct messages to server members.

  • Posting referral, affiliate, or monetized links without prior approval from @Mods or @Dusk .

Limited self-promotion may be permitted in appropriate channels at @Mods discretion.

When in doubt, ask @Mods or @Dusk before posting.

4 • Competing Games or Campaigns.

Do not run, promote, or recruit for your own D&D games or campaigns on the server without permission from @Dusk.

Why? At the end of the day running D&D is Dusk’s job and that is the primary purpose of the server.

Possible violations include:

  • Attempting to run games of any type in the server without prior permission.

  • Sending game invites or requests to join D&D games or TTRPGs not run by @Dusk.

  • Advertising non-Dusk D&D DMing or TTRPG GMing services.

Allowable exceptions:

  • Streaming a video game for people in a general audio channel.

  • Asking people in a general chat if they would like to meet up for a game night.

  • Scheduling a game night of a non-D&D or TTRPG game on the server.

  • Scheduling a game night for a GM-less TTRPG.

When in doubt ask @Dusk.

Moderation

5.1 • Moderators

Follow any direct instruction from a @Mods.

Report any issues on the server to the @Mods.

Avoid discussion of moderator activity in public channels.

If you have any questions or concerns about a moderator action, you may request a private discussion with a @Mods in need-help.

If you have any concerns about a specific moderator or even @Dusk, you may discuss them privately with a different moderator.

These discussions will be handled discreetly.

Impersonating a moderator will lead to an immediate ban.

Current @Mods are:

  • @His Name Was Dusk

  • @Kendra (Jhené/Mariah)

  • @Ellie - (Nyssa / Gabu)

  • @Daniel

5.2 • Warnings, Mutes, and Bans

@Mods reserve the right to take action at their discretion to maintain a safe and functional environment.

Warnings, mutes, and temporary bans of a month may be issued as punishment for repeated infractions.

A permanent ban is not something any user making a genuine attempt to follow the rules should worry about, even if they occasionally receive minor warnings.

Bans are rare, but they can still happen.

Access to the server or its channels may be restricted regardless of payment status.

The @Mods team is authorized to issue an immediate ban for the following reasons:

  • Explicit hate speech or promotion of hate groups.

  • Threatening anyone with real life bodily harm.

  • Posting private information of others.

  • Sharing pornographic content.

  • Impersonating a moderator.

  • Attempting to run your own games on the server.

  • Using the server to promote your own games without explicit prior permission from Dusk.

  • Posting Spam or Scams.
